Carolling in Company
We understand that the holidays can be a challenging and often lonely or daunting time for some, especially if you are grieving a loved one.
Finding a focus during this time, while connecting with your community, can be a great source of comfort and strength.
Last December, a member of our community organised a wonderful Christmas Carol Singing Fundraiser, where they gathered friends and spent an evening walking around Hampstead Heath, collecting donations for our cause.
This year, we're inviting you to build on that spirit! Host your own Carolling in Company fundraising event this December to bring people together, spread cheer, and support Suicide&Co's vital services.
Your Carolling in Company Toolkit: 5 Simple Steps
We’ve detailed all the information below to guide you in organising your event, but please get in touch with info@suicideandco.org if you have any questions.
Pick Your Area & Plan Your Route
To keep things simple, pick a local neighbourhood you know well and map out a manageable, looping walking route. Using a familiar path will make group coordination a breeze!
Book Your Base
Secure a friendly local pub, community hall, or café as your finishing point. This is where your carolling group can gather afterwards for warmth, connection, and refreshments. Most spaces should let you hire a space for free as you’re organising a charity event!
Set Up Your Fundraising Page
Join our Carolling in Company Campaign and build your own JustGiving Page. This is your primary hub for collecting secure online donations.
Please remember there is no "right way" to navigate the holidays; everyone's journey is unique, and whether you choose to organise an event or not, please remember that you are not alone, and we are here to support you.
Gather Your Company & Encourage Donations
Reach out to family, friends, and neighbours and ask if they would like to participate. This is a fantastic way to bring people together during the Christmas period, which can feel isolating for those bereaved by suicide.
We suggest a donation of £5−£10 per person to participate. They can easily make their donation on your online fundraising page.
Get Ready to Sing and Collect
Download and Print Our Carol Book: Access our official Carolling in Company songbook here with all the words and songs you'll need.
Prepare for Cashless Donations: Download the Square app on your phone. This allows you to easily receive secure tap and chip donations on the night, which will go to your bank account. You can then transfer the collected amount to your fundraising page after the event.
