Amy’s Story
Happiest when on a beach in Cornwall, Amy keeps on swimming and embraces the exhilaration of life.
Amy unexpectedly lost her mum at 16. She felt that her world came crumbling down around her and navigating through the fog of grief often felt impossible. Learning to cope was largely due to the support of her family, friends and talking therapies.
Amy’s desire to support those who have lost a loved one through suicide stems from her own lived experience and in turn she is passionate about reducing the stigma around depression. She believes that if we continue to talk, to share and to face this illness head on then we can reduce the number of people affected by it. Amy’s drive to bring people on this journey with her makes her perfectly suited to fundraising.
