In 2023, 6,069 people in England and Wales lost their lives to suicide (ONS). For each life lost, it’s estimated that 135 people are affected and 6 people are directly bereaved. We’ve adapted our annual challenge to reflect the increase in size of our community, the 36K Challenge now symbolises the 36,000 people we strive to support each year.
We’re looking for 36 people or teams to take part in our 36k Challenge and raise £1,000 each to collectively raise £36,000.
The challenge is flexible - you can walk, run, cycle, skip or swim 36km. You can do it alone or as part of a team (maybe even relay style!), so that you can tailor it to your capabilities.
This year, World Suicide Prevention Day is on Wednesday, the 10th of September, so your challenge can take place any time between the 6th and the 14th of September.
In 2024, our team was the biggest yet, with over 60 Challengers who raised over £70,000 - could this year's team beat that number? We'll see!
